When the Beatles released an album every six months the world was thrilled. Thrilled. When I do it, you few that listen feel a sense of obligation, maybe, at best. So if you wondering if what that sound you hear is, it’s not my album, it’s 8 billion people yawning apathetically.
Well, stop being so churlish, that’s what I say! I don’t even tell you about every album I record. Or the ones I appear on.
I’m proud of this one. I recorded it over 5 days on a plane and in Athens. The sounds are all garageband. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. However, it’s ambient and wonky and a bit melodic. Think Aphex Twin meets Daniel Johnston. I decided to give every song a song title of another song that “influenced” it.
Some More Information
2 songs have proper lyrics. 3 more songs have words. Lots of songs have delay and reverb and 5 descending notes.
The band name is Snrub. I was going to draw picture of me with a fake moustache. I failed. I drew a picture of me any way.
Alternative Album Art
I had an x-ray done for a job offer in Athens. I almost used it but decided that xray album covers are cheesy. Crappy self portraits are FINE ART though.
I also had to see a psychiatrist for my visa. The song Frontier Psychiatrist is “about” that. It also rained. It Can’t Stand The Rain and Here Come The Sun are “about” that.
Bandcamp
Please support the bandcamp union. Capital took something beautiful and ruined it, again, again, again.
Some Lyrics
Blonde
I gilded my grief
Put filigree around it
I tried to mark art
To map it with boundaries
It’s all lies
I have no words
For this
It is just there
It is what I am
The Baby Song
Babies are full of a selfish hate
There’s no such thing as innocence
Lambs bleat for selfish reasons
Their cries cut right through the ewes
